The NUMBERED SERIES (excerpts from '... the mind of ...' manuscripts)
=========================================== -I- When things aren't going the way they were before And everyone's trying to find the door. Just close your eyes and look inside, But don't mistake it for a place to hide. (date unknown) -II- Everyone's pointing the way Trying to tell the story Of what is right and what is wrong Their big desire is glory. Oh greedy, vain, monsterous animal The city plays your epitaph. For long since has the angelic voice of the earth Cried out in pain at your destructive qualities . Her gentle breezes blocked by cubicals of red tape Across the door of freedom But patiently she waits in the harmonics Of a swaying field of wheat, Time ticking away frame after frame Of life's experience and continuing on Though we as individuals pass away. (7706/10/1610) -III- I don't know what to play To let my feelings go . I don't know what to write To let the people know. Take command of the situation Extend a careful look, To what is all around you In the sky, underwater, on foot. As you move, move your mind In conjunction with your will. As you speak, speak your heart Let your vocal thoughts still. (date unknown) -IV- Reach back and touch your mind, Move all around your body. (date unknown) -V- (To Angie) The secrets I told you were real images of my much forgotten past. The how and when of the resolution is seen very near, and never before have I been able to learn so much in so little time as I have with you. Still there's confusion because like you both sides are appealing, yet one has dominated and unlike you that dominance has put a mental block on me. If ever I wanted to rid myself of anything more I wish it to be gone now. I reach out to you, to touch you, to feel your warmth. The feeling I get from it makes me wonder how much I've missed. I want to know that feeling. ( date unknown ) -VI- In the beginning there was harmony among all living creatures, and everything flowed with a positive radiance that portrayed the beauty of God. It was at this time that nature took its course and meticulously kept balance among all that were its parts and there was Peace. (date unknown) -VII- Following a fly with the mind Instead of your eyes Watching its past and its future ln trails of woven stature you realize That the earth is alive and speaks Through the sighs of the wind blown grass To clouds floating past And to any ear that strives to hear Without a fear regardless of size And your eyes now noblely wise Look off to the point where the sky Kisses the earth and you laugh with mirth As you consciously see all the movement Between you and me and BEYOND. (date unknown) -VIII- Everyone is reaching out trying to touch another, but never taking time to converse and getting lost within our own fear of rejection. Stop, slow down, its time to look around and don't get caught in hangups for the ground is the hardest part of learning when we fall. The eye to eye, the body talk, the vocal intonations all signify a certain thought to help us understand the situation more clearly. Perceive, believe, be more aware, erase the program tapes. Listen hard, be more alert, you'll find the answer there. Don't try to play an image, relax and be yourself. The truth comes out when the masks are down and the inner light shines forth. Communicate, don't be afraid, there is no easier way of telling those you love, that you do love and would like to share the feeling with them. (date unknown) -IX- How could you have been decieved, The answers were always there. Instead you lingered on the unimportant, Like clothes, music and hair. Take heed, the structure crumbles down, It falls before your feet. The old ideas are now invalid, The confrontation heats. You've been programmed into believing, That everything's O-K. You try to control your children, And they push you all away. The experiences you suffered Were springing ideas you bought? While all the time throughout your life, The truth is what you sought. (date unknown) -X- Somewhere in the midst of unconscious mind, A hidden world there you'll find. (date unknown) -XI- Here is A prac- Tice poem For you. I hope It helps Relieve The blues. But lf It don't, Don't feel Too bad. It's not The on- Ly one I have. -XII- Altas, the plane flies overhead And drowns the thoughts from in my head. Perhaps one day the route they'll change, Or maybe the hours they'll rearrange. Then not on my dreams the noise will tread. (7711/05/2154) -XIII- (To Angie) Oh, where be thou now my Angie, I don't understand this matter. Some nights my eyes pour salted water And wonde ing why these things come to me Filled with sadness not with glee. No sorrow had come any greater Than waking in the night without her. If I don't understand I cannot see. Then once while walking in a dream, Her voice, her smile were in the air, And I felt her so very close. But things had changed or so it seems. Her heart has taken her elsewhere And mine has left me otiose. (7711/05/0844) -XIV- To see what's outside one must first look inside. Forget about yourself. Listen to what's around you. Man must reproduce. There is an entity of good and an entity of evil. Understanding without knowledge. Man is equal with all living forms. Meditate on the Divine Sphere. Do not speak internally. Become one with everything. (7607/15/1304) -XV- A young child forced into what he can't do. From his peers the pressure builds inside, A leap to fantasy as he tries to hide. His mind projecting a luminous blue. Loneliness, sorrow, follow too. By virtuous rules does he try to abide, But he finds that society's lawmakers lied. Protecting themselves with words that are new. But now growing up he has come to see The secrets of the earth and sky. And finding this he has come to be A man in search of the reasons why His door of life has not a key To open wide the joys of love which pass him (date unknown) -XVI- To be humble is to be wise. Remember body discipline. Acceptance without association. Yogic asanas is important to the rising of consciousness. I note that they, the asanas should proceed in a way contingent with that of an internal to external self discipline. (7607/21/2345) -XVII- Internal meditation, External meditation, co-ordination walk. These develop the Divine Sphere. (date unknown) RULES of POETIC VERSE examples: =========================================== A Villanelle (By Michael Turner) I cry alone at night My heart beats on and on The time for me just isn't right I search the darkness for an inner light For joy which seems gone I cry alone at night I try to reach those who might just know why darkness is long The time for me just isn't right What love a rainbow brings to sight when it's not exposed to neon I cry alone at night I try to write my word real tight To pass my feeling on The time for me just isn't right Society gnaws it scratches, it bite's It makes me feel like leaving I cry alone at night The time for me just isn't right RECENT WRITINGS: =========================================== FROM A WINDOW (David Michael Turner 4/4/2003) From a window I hear the laughter on the street below A chorus of muted conversations highlighted by the sounds of merriment that I don't seem to understand. From a window I see couples hand in hand, arms around each other. I well up with tears at the thought of the closeness which never seems to have come my way and which to me is alien. From a window, I smell the coming of the storm in the night. I fight hard against the rain that rages in my mind and comes to overflowing in tears running down my face. From a window, I touch no one, and no one touches me. Like a child abandoned, knowing nothing more than its hunger and thirst for love unquenched. From a window, I speak silently the pain that knows no end. Like a shadow ever present, It wraps around me and envelops my heart in a shroud of darkness that leaves me mute. From a window, I sense no reprive from my approaching death. Ever beckoning me to drink deep the foulness of my own sadness mixed with the poison of my sorrows. From a window, I know of no one who has want of me. Alone I stand, wondering what ever were the signs that I must have overlooked that leaves me now loveless, watching From a window. I MUST HAVE GOT LOST (David Michael Turner 4/4/2003) I must have got lost, somewhere, sometime, so long ago. But being headstrong and arrogant I plunged on, into the dark, Surrounding myself with optimistic delusions about a light at the end of some superficial tunnel to which I would eventually arrive, clothed with pride at having made the journey on instinct and my own individual ideologies. Having gone no where, I am surrounded now by tall branching barriers. They block the way ahead, and I don't know the way back. I am suspended amongst the anguish of my unfulfilled heart, having lost myself somewhere along the road, which while traveling seemed beckoning me on, to find such an end that would justify the making and means of my soul.
